Hey there! So, you want to know about me it would appear. I am honored and humbled. Also – you’re feeding my ego right now…. nom nom nom…. thank you 🙂
As an Air Force military brat, I had the opportunity to live in more than one location while growing up. Although there were changes in housing, scenery, weather, friends and surroundings, the one thing that always remained the same is that there was always some form of critter or fuzzy I could observe and try to befriend. I’ll never forget the first time I saw a ground squirrel in Nebraska. I though it was a mutated or ill chipmunk!
Even now as an adult, I am that person you will see at social gatherings that is hanging out with the resident fuzzy watching others (yes, we are judging you all silently mwahahaha!) as apposed to the human kind. Whenever I go anywhere, I prefer to always be in the company of one kind of animal or another. There is a healing and calming quality to being around animals for me. It is simply one of my preferred happy places to be.
When I’m not spending my time trying to pet that dog, head bump that cat, play run and kill with a ferret or thumpity with a rabbit, I am hanging out with my favorite people. My family has been entirely supportive of my crazy fostering habit and even jumped on board! Now we are that family that fusses over what type of humidifier should we get for a foster cat with respiratory problems and paw cream to use on foster dogs to ensure their feet don’t get chapped by the cold weather.
Fostering has allowed me to network and meet some of the most amazing people I know. Their kindness and ability to give love is unmatched and I am honored to have been able to share any portion of this adventure in life with them. Thank you as well for the capacity in which you also contribute. I appreciate and look forward to getting to know you more.
